Philly lands in top 10 U.S. cities for relocation

Art, history, education, and food earned Philadelphia a place on the list.

At different points in life, any number of circumstances may necessitate a change of location. Whether it's a new job, family obligations, an education or simply the desire for a fresh start, the United States is a big country with amazing diversity.  

Where to go can be an overwhelming decision, but that doesn't mean it's wise to just throw darts at a map. In fact, if you're a resident of Philadelphia, it's possible the best place to be is right where you are. 

According to a blog from Lincoln Property Company, Philadelphia ranks ninth on its list of the 10 best cities to relocate to in the United States. The list was compiled based on several factors that may apply differently depending on individual preferences, from cultural fit to weather and cuisine.

Given everything above, it may be somewhat surprising to learn that in 2014 Philly was actually the 8th ranked city people moved away from in the United States. 

This year, the city's fortunes are turning around, as Philadelphia ranked highly on lists such the New York Times' greatest destinations in the world (#3) and the top 10 most organic cities in the United States (#9).
