Police have charged a Pennsylvania man with abusing the corpse of a Philadelphia woman who was found dead along the side of a road in Ferguson Township on Valentine’s Day.

According to an Associated Press report obtained by CBSPhilly, the victim, 35-year-old Corinne Pena, allegedly met Robert Moir, 59, a few days before that.

Ferguson Township police say Moir told them the two spent several nights in a hotel and at his home in central Pennsylvania. Police allege that Moir told them he found Pena dead on his bathroom floor on Feb. 13, and that he had nothing to do with her death.

Police believe she overdosed, but toxicology tests are pending.

Police say Moir told them he left her body along the side of a road, “figuring it would be quickly found and wouldn’t decompose because of the low temperatures.”

Moir's lawyer said, “he probably should have called 911.”
