Ryan Gillyard, 15-year-old freshman football player at St. Joseph's Prep, collapsed and died during a football practice Saturday morning, Philly.com reports.
Gillyard was rushed to Temple University Hospital following his collapse at a workout at the team's practice field on Cecil B. Moore Avenue and 11th Street. Gillyard died at the hospital. He was from Upper Darby and played on the school's football and basketball teams.
Gillyard tweeted about the workout early Saturday morning, which has since been retweeted more than 200 times and has elicited responses of condolences from classmates.
