Philly man surrenders in girlfriend's fatal stabbing at Atlantic City casino, police say

Atlantic County prosecutors are searching for Frankie Lane, 59, of Philadelphia, who has been charged with homicide and weapons offenses in the fatal stabbing of his girlfriend at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino on June 11, 2021. Sharon Whaley, 57, was found dead inside her Atlantic City hotel room with multiple stab wounds.

Delaware County moves to acquire Don Guanella School land by eminent domain and preserve space as park

Delaware County Council plans to use eminent domain to acquire the 213-acre former Don Guanella School property in Marple Township owned by the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. Officials want to preserve the open space, creating Delaware County's largest public park. Four separate development proposals for the site were rejected by the township and residents.

Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner urged city leaders to find creative ways to approach the problems caused by illegal dirt bikes and ATVs. He spoke in the wake of a deadly shooting in Port Richmond on Saturday night, when 21-year-old dirt bike rider Angel Rodriguez was shot multiple times during a large gathering of dirt bikes and motorcycles.

Two people shot at Federal Donuts in North Philly; one of the injured is a 14-year-old, police say

A 14-year-old boy and a 27-year-old man were shot Thursday afternoon at the Federal Donuts store in North Philadelphia, police said. The shooting happened just after 1 p.m. at the popular doughnut shop at the intersection of North Seventh Street and Fairmount Avenue, three blocks north of Spring Garden Street. Authorities said the teen was shot twice in the left leg and had been transported to Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in stable condition.

President Joe Biden gave U.K. Prime Minister Boris Johnson a custom-made touring bike built at North Philadelphia's Bilenky Cycle Works. The gift was given in recognition of Johnson's penchant for cycling as the two leaders met ahead of this weekend's G7 Summit. Biden received a framed photograph of a British mural of abolitionist Frederick Douglass.

Bucks County drug manufacturer, execs charged with conspiracy to defraud FDA

KVK-TECH, a generic drug maker in Newtown, Bucks County, is facing federal penalties over alleged violations of U.S. Food and Drug Administration regulations. Two executives at the company, Murty Vepuri, 69, and Ashvin Panchal, 50, allegedly chose to sell a prescription anxiety medication with an unapproved ingredient acquired from a laboratory in Mexico.

Claudia F. Carrion, 44, of Allentown, was charged with solicitation to commit criminal homicide after she allegedly offered to pay an undercover detective $4,000 to kill her husband, according to the Lehigh County District Attorney's Office.

Homeowner found dead after explosions, fires in Eagleville police standoff

Thomas Razzi, 65, was found dead in his home after a series of explosions and fired followed a police standoff in Eagleville on Thursday, June 10, 2021, Montgomery County prosecutors said. Two other homes were destroyed and another three were damaged. Razzi, 65, had brandished a gun earlier when township code enforcement officer arrived to perform a follow-up inspection for known hoarding conditions.
