Hilary Duff tried a citywide special from Bob & Barbara's during her concert at the Highmark Mann Center for the Performing Arts.
Halfway through her Philadelphia concert on Sunday night, Hilary Duff paused to try a "little treat" from the city — and got a little more than she bargained for.
The pop singer has been incorporating local delicacies into each show on her tour, which just stopped at the Highmark Mann Center for the Performing Arts. She slurped clam chowder in Massachusetts and ate hot chicken in Nashville. But she wasn't quite sure what she was looking at when she crossed the Mann stage for her Philly treat.
"A citywide special," she said, to loud cheers from the audience. "What is a citywide special?"
Bob & Barbara's had supplied the can of PBR and shot of Jim Beam sitting in Duff's mini-fridge. The former Disney Channel star eyed them nervously, asking if the combo was strong. ("It smells strong," she added.) But she gamely toasted the crowd with her shot, drank it and then gulped down some of the beer.
"You guys are tough in Philly," Duff said.
The singer, who's been touring in support of her sixth studio album "Luck... or Something" since June, is due to perform next Wednesday in Toronto. Perhaps a palate-cleansing BeaverTail awaits.
