Philadelphia police are investigating the vandalism of a mural honoring George Floyd in the Olney section of the city on Friday. Graffiti on the mural showed the name and logo of Patriot Front, a white nationalist organization deemed a hate group by the Anti-Defamation League.

Philadelphia firefighters responded to the 200 block of Market Street in Old City on Friday morning after the brick facade of an apartment building collapsed onto the sidewalk below. A car was heavily damaged by the incident, but no injuries were reported, police said.

Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner announced Friday that a conviction was vacated in court for a man who was sentenced to life in prison for a 2013 murder. The case, well-known as a deadly attempted robbery over Beats by Dre headphones, was compromised by official misconduct from former Philadelphia detective Philip Nordo, who was fired in 2017 and will be tried this fall on a slew of charges. Arkel Garcia, who was convicted of killing 21-year-old Christian Massey, had the sentence vacated in Common Pleas Court following an investigation by Krasner's office.

Honey's Sit 'N Eat has permanently closed its location in Graduate Hospital at 2101 South St., where it had been open since 2013. The Northern Liberties location, which opened in 2005, will continue to operate seven days a week from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Fourth and Brown streets.

A barn and stable at Bartram's Garden in Southwest Philadelphia will be preserved with a $100,000 grant from the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission. The barn, built in 1775, is believed to be the oldest in Philadelphia County.

A Turkish shipment containing hundreds of blank firing guns was intercepted at Washington Dulles International Airport, with a final destination listed in Bensalem, Bucks County, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials. Authorities seized 240 Zoraki model M2906 pistols that could be converted into working handguns.
