Two attempted abductions reported hours apart in Delaware

Both women were able to get away

Two attempted abductions of grown women were reported just hours apart in Newark, Delaware late-Sunday into early-Monday, with one victim being a University of Delaware student.

According to CBSPhilly, police in the area are searching for a suspect described as a white male in his early 20s, approximately 5’6” to 5’7” and with a thin build.

In both situations, the women were able to fight off the alleged attacker and get away.

In the first incident, involving a 28-year-old University of Delaware student, the suspect reportedly grabbed the woman from behind and attempted to “put a rag with an unknown chemical” around her mouth, CBSPhilly said.

That incident happened at around 11:30 p.m. Sunday at Colonial Gardens on the 300 block of East Main Street.

In the second attempted abduction, which involved a 55-year-old woman, the suspect again approached the victim from behind, “grabbed victim’s neck and mouth and tried to push her into the vehicle.”

Both times the suspect fled.
