March 15, 2016
While St. Patrick's Day seems to get all the love in March, there is another standout date in the month. The Ides of March falls on March 15.
On the date in 44 B.C., Julius Caesar was murdered, stabbed to death by conspirators led by Marcus Junius Brutus. The date has since lived on in infamy.
Many know to beware the Ides of March, a line made famous by Shakespeare's play "Julius Caesar."
For those looking for a safe place to wait out the day, Jet Wine Bar is hosting an Ides of March wine tasting.
There are five wines selected for the tasting from regions that were once under Caesar's rule. Jet Wine Bar's owner Jill Weber will lead the tasting, sharing history on the global wines.
Individual tickets are $30 and include light snacks. There is a discount on any additional food or drink.
