Lego movie director tweets after Oscar snub

His tweet garnered thousands of retweets

When the list of Oscar nominees was announced Wednesday, the Lego Movie wasn’t on the list for animated feature film.

The movie’s director, Philip Lord, responded on Twitter:

After tweeting out the picture, he followed up by saying, “This is not a tragedy. Congrats to incredible crew and cast of The Lego Movie, who made a classic.”

The Lego movie certainly made money, grossing $258 million, according to IMDB.com. A sequel is in the works.
