The strange synergy that exists between twins is a subject of endless fascination for those of us born into more statistically typical family structures. Some of the astonishing real-life stories out there about twins are enough to make a person reconsider the supernatural, or at the very least, seek to figure out why spooky things coincidentally happen to twins.
The latest story in this department comes out of Voorhees, New Jersey, where a twin sisters each gave birth Monday to a daughter six minutes apart from one another at Virtua Hospital, according to 6 ABC.
Stephanie Edginton and Nicole Montgomery were situated across the hall from one another when they welcomed Cora and Luisa, respectively, into the world as cousins.
Edginton originally had a due date of Feb. 5 and Montgomery on Valentine's Day, but since the world works in mysterious ways, they ended up having their daughters at nearly the same time.
The sisters, who spoke to the New York Daily News, said this event follows the close bond they've had throughout their lives: They went to the same college, joined the same sorority, went to the same graduate school, and both got jobs as speech and language pathologists.
To make matters more bewildering, Stephanie and Nicole said that they were born within three minutes of each other.
