Bring on the nice weather and begin summer at the Navy Yard with some free, open-to-the public fitness programming and the newest public art display.
On May 5, the Navy Yard unveiled its latest public art instillation, Greetings from the Mirage (#NavyYard Mirage), a domed sculptural art installation that will transport you to a surrealist soft desert created by sculpture artist Matty Geez.
The exhibit is open now through June 18, 2023, from sunup to sundown, Monday through Sunday. This artwork is free for all to view and experience, and it requires no ticket or reservation.

The Navy Yard strives to promote physical and spiritual wellbeing to employees of the Navy Yard and the surrounding communities, and this year free open-to-the-public fitness classes are coming back.
Classes will be held every Tuesday and Wednesday from 5:30-6:30 p.m. at League Island Park in the Navy Yard (1101 Kitty Hawk Ave).
The Mat Pilates and Yoga Flow classes are led by Alchemy X, a local boutique
fitness, health and wellness studio that focuses on movement, nourishment,
collaboration, and growth.
So, bring your water and a mat and be ready to transform into a powerful mind-body connection class, feeling refreshed and rejuvenated.
Registration is required for each class, and you can learn more on the Navy Yard blog.
