Police: Norwegian man arrested in bomb threat at Philadelphia International Airport

Male suspect reportedly demanded that British Airways flights remain grounded

Officials have arrested a Norwegian man in connection to a reported bomb threat at Philadelphia International Airport Thursday afternoon, authorities confirmed.

Around 4:30 p.m., the male suspect called 911 to warn of a bomb in the baggage claim of Terminal A, according to 6 ABC. The suspect, 30, reportedly demanded that all British Airways flights remain grounded in Philadelphia.

Investigators traced the call to a pay phone located in a customer waiting area, according to CBS 3.

Police said that a thorough search was conducted and no device was found.

Airport operations were not affected during the course of the search.

Police did not say what charges the unidentified suspect will face.
