Person fatally struck on Roosevelt Boulevard in Northeast Philly

A person was fatally struck by a vehicle Monday on Roosevelt Boulevard in Northeast Philadelphia, 6ABC reports.

The incident occurred around 5:30 a.m. near Harbison Avenue.

Police say the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the vehicle reportedly stopped nearby.

The victim was not immediately identified.

All six southbound lanes were shut down as a result of the crash. Commuters can expect delays in the area.

The incident remains under investigation.
