A puppy was found dead inside this cage along the side of the road in Upper Dublin Township.

PETA is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible for suffocating a puppy and abandoning its body in Montgomery County.

The Pit Bull Terrier was found inside a metal cage that was encompassed in plastic wrap and duct tape in the Willow Grove section of Upper Dublin Township.

A necropsy conducted on the puppy found it had died from suffocation and was seriously underweight, according to PETA.

"It takes a dangerous lack of empathy for others' suffering to lock a puppy in a cage, wrap her up in plastic, and leave her on the side of the road to suffer a slow, agonizing death by suffocation," said PETA Senior Director Colleen O'Brien in a press release.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Upper Dublin Township Police Department's detective division at 215-646-2101.
