Police in Camden County are investigating after 44-year-old man was fatally shot early Sunday morning.
According to a statement from the Camden County Prosecutor's Office, the shooting occurred around 3:12 a.m., when police by the ShotSpotter system of gunfire in the area of 1400 Pershing Street.
Officers found the victim, Andre Matthews, of Camden, lying on the sidewalk at the scene of the shooting. Matthews was taken to Cooper University Hospital, where he pronounced dead 4:32 a.m.
No arrests have been made as police continue to search for a suspect.
