Police officer injured in crash with SEPTA bus

A Philadelphia Police officer was injured early Thursday morning in a vehicle collision with a SEPTA bus in West Philadelphia.

At about 4:46 a.m., officers responded to an accident involving a SEPTA bus and a Philadelphia Police cruiser at the intersection of 63rd Street and Haverford Avenue.

Contacted Thursday morning, a police spokesperson was unsure of what caused the accident but said the incident is currently being investigated.

Andrew Busch, a SEPTA spokesperson, said that at the time of the incident, the bus was carrying no passengers and the bus driver was not injured.

The officer involved, who police have not named, reportedly complained of pain following the crash and has been taken to the hospital to be checked for injuries.
