Suspect flees from Reading Terminal Market after stealing purse on May 20, 2016.

Philadelphia police are seeking assistance from the public to locate and identify a suspect in a theft last Friday at Reading Terminal Market.

According to authorities, the incident occurred at around 1:50 p.m. on May 20. The victim, a 36-year-old female, was sitting inside Reading Terminal Market at 51 North 12th Street with her purse on the arm of her chair. After a brief period of time, the victim noticed that her purse was missing.

Surveillance footage from the area shows the suspect reach over a railing and take the purse before fleeing from the terminal east on Filbert Street.

The suspect is described as a 50-year-old black male wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt with a white T-shirt, blue jeans, black and white sneakers, a black baseball hat, and a dark backpack.
