Two South Jersey infants dead after 911 call by mother

Lindenwold case under investigation, according to prosecutor

Two 7-month-old twins found unresponsive at a Lindenwold apartment building following a 911 call early Wednesday morning have died, according to authorities.

The babies were pronounced dead at about 8:30 a.m. by Dr. Adrienne Rigueur of Virtua Hospital, according to the Camden County prosecutor.

In an update released about 3:30 p.m., the prosecutor's office said the cause and manner of the babies are pending further testing by the Camden County Medical Examiner.  The investigation is ongoing.

The spokeswoman for the prosecutor’s office has not responded to messages seeking additional comment.

The Inquirer reported that the mother of the children, who was not identified by name, placed the emergency call after seeing the children were purple and performing CPR. The mother mentioned an unidentified friend as also being present, it reported.

Fox 29 said emergency crews were called to the 500 block of Bilper Avenue around 8:30 a.m. Investigators carried out several bags, according to the news station.
