Howie Roseman confirms that the Eagles will likely be spenders in 2020 free agency

The Philadelphia Eagles are highly likely to be spenders in free agency this offseason. That is something we kinda-sorta already assumed, given that the Birds have $40-plus million in cap space and holes at wide receiver, cornerback, linebacker, and maybe-soon-to-be safety, but Howie Roseman essentially confirmed on Tuesday at the NFL Combine that the Eagles will be opening their metaphorical wallet.

Eagles keep the door open for potential return of Jason Peters

In the 2019 NFL Draft, the Philadelphia Eagles traded up three spots in the first round, from pick No. 25 to pick No. 22, costing them fourth- and sixth-round picks in the process, to select Jason Peters' eventual successor in Andre Dillard. It was a steep price to pay for a player who was only going to play as a rookie if Peters got hurt. Of course, the easy assumption to make was that Dillard would serve as Peters' understudy for a year, before becoming the full-time starter in 2020 and beyond. Or, uh, maybe not?

A preview of the wide receiver class competing at the 2020 NFL Combine

The 2020 NFL Combine will kick off this week, and the obvious position of interest, both locally and nationally, will be at wide receiver. In Philadelphia, the wide receivers will be the primary focus because of the Eagles' obvious need for them. Nationally, this wide receiver class will draw heavy interest because it's being touted as one of the best and deepest groups ever.
