An update on the Eagles' latest round of injuries

Coming out of the bye week, a common sentiment was that the Philadelphia Eagles would perhaps be the healthiest they've been all season. Nope. Prior to their matchup against the New England Patriots, it was learned that Alshon Jeffery and Jordan Howard would be unable to play. On Monday, Doug Pederson provided updates on Lane Johnson, who left the Pats game with a head injury, as well as the statuses of Jeffery and Howard.

Before the Philadelphia Eagles even suited up against the New England Patriots on Sunday afternoon, there weren't a whole lot of people who gave them a great chance of beating the defending champs. And win they didn't, as they fell by the final score of 17-10. The opportunity was certainly there, but a familiar theme of leaving plays on the field arose once again. Eagles RB injury carnage: Darren Sproles to IR, Jordan Howard not yet cleared for contact

Doug Pederson confirmed on Friday the report that former Eagles running back Jay Ajayi is in Philadelphia today for a workout, and we now have more clarity why. Darren Sproles is headed to injured reserve with a torn hip flexor muscle, and Jordan Howard, who suffered a stinger against the Chicago Bears before the Eagles' bye week, has not yet been cleared for contact.
