In the killings of four University of Idaho students, authorities have released the police report, which provides more details about the crime and how Bryan Kohberger, the Pennsylvania man charged with the homicides, was linked to the crime scene in Moscow Idaho. Kohberger was in court on Thursday, Jan. 5, following his arrest at his parents' home in the Poconos and his extradition on Wednesday. Kohberger is a doctoral student in criminology at Washington State University, which is about 10 miles from the home were the four students were killed.

Philadelphia police are searching for several suspects involved in an assault that occurred on SEPTA's Market-Frankford Line subway on Dec. 12. The incident happened after a robber stole the wallet of a 20-year-old man on the platform of Jefferson Station in Center City. The man chased the robber onto the train, where he was attacked by a group of men, investigators said. Authorities released surveillance video of the assault and are seeking help from the public to identify the suspects.

A pet bloodhound named Daisy, who went missing from her family in Tennessee two years ago, was found at a puppy mill in New Jersey in December and reunited with her family on New Year's Day thanks to the discovery of a microchip. Two women were charged with animal cruelty in connection with the puppy mill in Brick Township, where authorities found about 180 animals during a search of the property.

Pennsylvania Rep. Mark Rozzi, of Berks County, was elected as the the state's first independent Speaker of the House after switching his former Democratic party affiliation on Tuesday, Jan. 3. Democrats obtained a one-seat House majority in the November elections, with 102-101 edge over Republicans, but vacancies in three Democratic districts led to a battle over which party held the majority.

Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin remains critical condition after he went into cardiac arrest during the team's "Monday Night Football" road game against the Cincinnati Bengals. As the sports world processes the shock of the incident, NHL Hall of Famer and former Philadelphia Flyer Chris Pronger offered his support for Hamlin and reflected on a similar incident in which he was struck in the chest by a puck during the 1998 playoffs. Some medical experts have suggested that Hamlin suffered a rare injury known as commotio cordis.

The driver wanted in the hit-and-run crash that killed 80-year-old Marjorie Straubmuller in Upper Township, Cape May County on Dec. 29 has been arrested, New Jersey State Police said. The driver's name has not been released and authorities have not announced any criminal charges. The deadly crash occurred near the intersection of Stagecoach Road and Brewhause Lane.
