American Airlines to resume flights from Philly to Worcester

American Airlines will resume service between Philadelphia International Airport and Worcester Regional Airport in central Massachusetts, the state's port authority announced. The flights will begin again Nov. 2, 2021 and tickets are on sale.

Philly woman charged with straw-purchasing 19 guns in Bucks County

Sharon Jones, 44, of Philadelphia, is charged with multiple offenses for allegedly buying 19 guns in Warminster, Bucks County with the intent of reselling them for profit, federal prosecutors announced. The alleged straw-purchasing scheme was carried out in a series of six transactions and involved handguns from multiple manufacturers, investigators said.

Family, police searching for missing Millersville University student

Millersville University student Matthew Mindler, 20, went missing on Aug. 24 and has not been seen since leaving his residence hall at the college in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. Mindler, who is from Hellertown, Lehigh County, has not been reached by concerned family and a missing adult report has been filed with the National Crime Information Center.

The film, primarily shot in the Philadelphia area, centers on a foreign NBA prospect and a struggling basketball scout who takes gamble on his talent despite character concerns.

Made in America 2021: Road closures, COVID-19 guidelines and prohibited items

The 10th Made in America festival in Philadelphia will take place on Labor Day weekend, Sept. 4-5, with headlining performances from Justin Bieber, Lil Baby, Megan Thee Stallion and Doja Cat. The city and event producer Roc Nation have developed a series of road closures, safety restrictions, COVID-19 policies and other guidelines for those who plan to attend the festival and residents impacted by it.

Five Guys plans new restaurant on Penn campus in University City

Five Guys will open its fourth Philadelphia location in fall 2020. A new restaurant will open on the campus of the University of Pennsylvania. The burger and shake joint is slated to open at 3714 Spruce Street, the former location of Beijing Restaurant, which closed in 2020 after 32 years.

Philly police reveal predictive DNA sketch in Fairmount Park Rapist investigation

Philadelphia police released a new suspect sketch in their investigation of the Fairmount Park Rapist, an unidentified man who has been linked to four violent incidents between 2003 and 2007. The most high-profile incident happened in July 2003, when 30-year-old medical student Rebecca Park was assaulted and killed. The linked cases have remained unsolved for nearly 20 years, but authorities hope the new sketch based on a predictive analysis of DNA evidence may help point to a suspect who remains at large.

Delco cheesesteak shop owner survives shocking knife attack by employee

The owner of Leo's Steaks in Folcroft, Delaware County, survived a knife attack from an employee on Aug. 20. The incident happened inside the business on Chester Pike, where Steven Mullan allegedly was stabbed by 43-year-old Sean Walklett. Mullan had a 10-inch knife lodged in his neck, but had it safely removed without serious complications. Walklett is charged with attempted first-degree murder and other offenses.
