As Ida wreaks havoc, beaver filmed swimming along flooded Pennsylvania road

As the remnants of Hurricane Ida brought heavy rainfall and storms to the Northeast, a beaver was spotted swimming down a flooded road in west central Pennsylvania on Wednesday. The beaver was spotted between Ebensburg and Colver, in Cambria County, and a video of the encounter was uploaded to Facebook.

In Philly suburbs, Ida leaves 3 people dead amid historic flooding, storm damage

The remnants of Hurricane Ida left extensive damage and widespread flooding across the Philadelphia suburbs as officials in Montgomery, Chester, Bucks and Delaware counties assessed the toll of the powerful storm. The National Weather services is investigating multiple reported tornadoes and state officials said at least 1,000 water rescue events have been recorded in the last 24 hours.

Ida remnants put Philly region on high alert for flooding, severe storms

The remnants of Hurricane Ida are expected to bring heavy rainfall, flash flooding and severe weather to the Philadelphia area and the Mid-Atlantic region on Wednesday and Thursday. The National Weather Service warns excessive rain totaling between two and six inches could hit parts of southeastern Pennsylvania and the Lehigh Valley, which have been hit with severe weather and flooding several times this summer.

Pfizer is working on an oral, antiviral medication that could be taken at home to reduce the severity of COVID-19 symptoms. The drug is entering the next stage of clinical trials and could become an important tool in reducing the severity of disease in people who have a coronavirus infection. It could also be a lifeline for those who are unable to receive COVID-19 vaccines, which will remain the primary preventative measure in the pandemic.

Philly man arrested for allegedly firing stolen gun during road rage incident on Garden State Parkway

Wellingthon Ayala-Peralta, 36, of Philadelphia, was charged with multiple offenses in an alleged road rage shooting on the Garden State Parkway on Aug. 24, 2021. Ayala-Paralta allegedly fired two shots into the sky using a stolen gun and was driving while intoxicated, police said.

Fast fashion retailer Primark will open at Fashion District Philadelphia on Sept. 16, 2021. The store will be Primark's third to open in Pennsylvania and will bring 350 jobs to the Center City mall.

'It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia' may have scenes in Ireland in Season 15

A casting agency in Ireland recently posted a listing for a "Danny DeVito double" to appear in a scene of "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" in Dublin. The FXX series is currently in production for its 15th season after the coronavirus pandemic put the show on temporary hiatus. A release date has not yet been set.

Pennsylvania man attempted to steal $400,000 in COVID-19 relief funds, prosecutors allege

Hayes D. Horner, Jr., 67, of Berwick, Pennsylvania, pleaded guilty to a wire fraud scheme in which he attempted to obtain more than $400,000 in COVID-19 relief funds through the Economic Injury Disaster Loan program, federal prosecutors said. Horner, who owns a towing company in Columbia County, allegedly worked with co-conspirators and was able to receive some of the approved loan funds.

Woman injured at Six Flags Great Adventure after entering restricted area

A women at Six Flags Great Adventure was injured on Aug. 29 after she entered a restricted area of the theme park and slipped on a rooftop, a spokesperson said. The woman was taken to a local hospital in Jackson Township with a leg injury.
