Netflix's new slasher film, "There's Someone Inside Your House," debuts on Wednesday, Oct. 6. The film is an adaptation of Stephanie Perkins' New York Times best-selling novel and stars Sydney Park in her first leading role. The 23-year-old actress has Philadelphia roots and described the new movie, about a high school killing spree in Nebraska, as a perfect opportunity to play a different kind of character with a blend of horror and comedy.

Frank N. Tobolsky, 59, of Cherry Hill, pleaded guilty to federal wire fraud charges after he stole nearly $2 million from a victim who had invested in a fake loan scheme for Eagles season ticket holders. Tobolsky used the money for personal expenses. The former attorney was disbarred in Pennsylvania and New Jersey in 2018 for other financial crimes connected to gambling.

The Ocean County Prosecutor's Office and Surf City Police are investigating two suspicious deaths after a pair of victims were found inside a residence on Sunday, Oct. 3, 2021. The victims, who were not immediately identified, were found inside a home on North Seventh Street in Surf City, which is located on New Jersey's Long Beach Island.

Ocean County prosecutors have charged Sherry Lee Heffernan, a Pennsylvania woman, with fatally stabbing her father and his girlfriend at a residence in Surf City, New Jersey on Sunday, Oct. 3, 2021. Heffernan, of Landenberg, Chester County, was taken into custody by Pennsylvania State Police and will be extradited to New Jersey on murder and weapons charges, authorities said.

Jefferson Health and Einstein Healthcare Network have finalized a merger of their hospital systems that will integrate their networks in North Philadelphia and Montgomery County. The $599 million deal, first announced in 2018, overcame legal objections from the Federal Trade Commission and the Pennsylvania Attorney General's Office. With the merger, Jefferson Health's network expands to 18 hospitals in the region.

As the Ben Simmons situation hangs over the Philadelphia sports world, a welcome dose of humor came from Eugene Bozzi, the North Philly native and U.S. Army veteran who captured an alligator last week in a trash can outside his home in Florida. During an interview with CBS3, Bozzi cracked a joke about not acting like Ben Simmons in that situation, instead choosing to get the gator in the basket.

Shaun Runyon, 39, of Pennsylvania, was charged with killing three co-workers in a brutal attack in central Florida, where he and his colleagues had traveled as part of group that had been contracted for electrical work. Investigators with the Polk County Sheriff's Office say the attack, which happened in Davenport, appears to have stemmed from a disagreement between Runyon and his supervisor.

Philadelphia's Department of Licenses & Inspections issued demolition permits for St. Laurentius Roman Catholic Church in Fishtown, a historic 19th century structure that has been the subject of intense preservation efforts and local infighting since the building closed in 2014. Demolition of St. Laurentius could begin as soon as November.
