Developers have proposed a six-story, mixed use building at Third St. and Girard Ave. in the Northern Liberties neighborhood of Philadelphia. As Ida wreaks havoc, beaver filmed swimming along flooded Pennsylvania road

As the remnants of Hurricane Ida brought heavy rainfall and storms to the Northeast, a beaver was spotted swimming down a flooded road in west central Pennsylvania on Wednesday. The beaver was spotted between Ebensburg and Colver, in Cambria County, and a video of the encounter was uploaded to Facebook.

Bullets fired by Sharon Hill police likely killed Fanta Bility, 8, outside Delco football stadium, D.A. says

The 8-year-old girl fatally shot in Sharon Hill after the football game at Academy Park High School on Aug. 27 likely was struck by gunfire from police officers, the Delaware County District Attorney said Thursday. The shooting, which happened after the game against Pennsbury, appears to have stemmed from a driveby shooting. Bility and three others, including her 13-year-old sister, were struck by responsive gunfire from police, according to a preliminary investigation.

In Philly suburbs, Ida leaves 3 people dead amid historic flooding, storm damage

The remnants of Hurricane Ida left extensive damage and widespread flooding across the Philadelphia suburbs as officials in Montgomery, Chester, Bucks and Delaware counties assessed the toll of the powerful storm. The National Weather services is investigating multiple reported tornadoes and state officials said at least 1,000 water rescue events have been recorded in the last 24 hours.

Ida remnants put Philly region on high alert for flooding, severe storms

The remnants of Hurricane Ida are expected to bring heavy rainfall, flash flooding and severe weather to the Philadelphia area and the Mid-Atlantic region on Wednesday and Thursday. The National Weather Service warns excessive rain totaling between two and six inches could hit parts of southeastern Pennsylvania and the Lehigh Valley, which have been hit with severe weather and flooding several times this summer.

Philly man arrested for allegedly firing stolen gun during road rage incident on Garden State Parkway

Wellingthon Ayala-Peralta, 36, of Philadelphia, was charged with multiple offenses in an alleged road rage shooting on the Garden State Parkway on Aug. 24, 2021. Ayala-Paralta allegedly fired two shots into the sky using a stolen gun and was driving while intoxicated, police said.
