Suspect sought in Center City Ubiq store robbery

Police are looking for a suspect who allegedly robbed a Ubiq store in the 9th district.

Police have released video of an unknown male who allegedly robbed a Ubiq store in Center City on Jan. 14.

The man entered the store at 1509 Walnut St. shortly after 1 p.m. and chose three pairs of shoes to bring to the register. Police say he presented a handgun to the cashier and demanded he be given the shoes and money in the cash register. 

Surveillance video shows the employee giving the suspect the shoes and an undetermined amount of money. He fled the store and was last seen heading east on Walnut toward 15th Street, according to a statement released by police.

Police describe him as a black male who is 20 years old, 5 feet 7 inches tall and 145 pounds and was wearing a dark gray jacket, jeans, and black sneakers with orange laces.

No injuries were reported.
