Tom Reynolds, aka TomBroDude from Twitter, was lauded as one of the funniest, kindest people around by friends both before and after his death on September 17, 2016 at the age of 27.

While the initial obituary for Thomas "Tom Bro Dude" Reynolds noted that his family would hold a public event  so that anybody could "come and share your memories of this kind, generous and funny young man,” those details have now changed.

Annie Reynolds, Tom's mother, said Tuesday that the family is now planning a private Quaker memorial service "for deeply personal and religious reasons." The date and time of the service were unavailable.

Reynolds, a beloved member of the "Philly Twitter" community, died on Sept. 17. He'd been publicly open about his struggles with heroin addiction in life.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in Tom's name be made to Mirmont Treatment Center Development Office, 100 Yearsley Mill Road, Lima, PA 19063.
