Philadelphia police are seeking the public's help identifying a wanted man who, police say, displayed a handgun and robbed a Dollar General store in Northern Liberties on Sunday, Nov. 22.

According to police, at about 8:10 p.m. Sunday, a man entered the Dollar General at 501 Spring Garden St., picked up an item and brought it to the cashier for purchase.

However, police say that when the 20-year-old female employee scanned the item, the man lifted his shirt to display a handgun and demanded the employee empty the cash register.

Law enforcement officials say that the employee opened the cash register and gave the man about $350 before he fled the store. He was last seen headed east on Spring Garden Street.

No injuries were reported during the incident, police say.

Police describe the suspect as about 35 years old and about 5 feet 7 inches tall with a thin build. At the time of the incident, police say the man was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt with a blue vest, tan hat and tan Timberland boots.
