Arrest warrant issued for Philly man in series of home invasions, robberies

Second man faces numerous charges in violence that targeted Asian businesses

Police have issued an arrest warrant for Anthony Campbell, left, 33, of the 100 block of North Dewey Street, West Philadelphia. A second suspect, Norman Bowen, 29, of the 5500 block of Addison Street, West Philadelphia, is in custody and facing a multitude of charges, police said.

An arrest warrant has been issued for a man wanted in connection with a series of home invasions and robberies in Northwest and Southwest Philadelphia.

Police investigators said they are searching for Anthony Campbell, 33, of the 100 block of North Dewey Street, of West Philadelphia.

A second West Philadelphia man, identified as Norman Bowen, 29, of the 5500 block of Addison Street, was charged Monday in the incidents. He faces eight counts of Criminal Conspiracy, Burglary, Criminal Trespass, Theft-Unlawful Taking, and Theft-Receiving Stolen Property; seven counts of Violation Uniform Firearms Act; six counts of Robbery, and Recklessly Endangering Another Person; five counts of False Imprisonment, Unlawful Restraint, and related offenses, police said.

Bowen was taken into custody on an unrelated charge without incident on Friday.

Philadelphia police investigated a pattern of 11 home invasions of Asian-owned businesses between May 3, 2016, and August 1, 2016 – the suspect descriptions and methods of crime were the same. In many of the incidents, the suspects forcibly entered the closed businesses which had attached residences. The occupants were tied up, threatened and robbed at gunpoint, taking money, cigarettes, jewelry and electronics. The suspects were captured on surveillance video in several incidents.

The following incidents were reported:

• May 3 on the 100 block of East Duncannon Ave.

• May 4 on the 5300 block of Pine St.

• June 6 on the 6200 block of Pine St.

• June 9 on the 1000 block of West Ruscomb St.

• June 29 on the 4200 block of Lancaster Ave.

• July 14 on the 2900 block of West Allegheny Ave.

• July 20 on the 5100 block of North 5th St.

• July 28 on the 6000 block of Master St.

• July 30 on the 6000 block of Lansdowne Ave.

• July 31 on the 6000 of Market St.

• August 1 on the 700 block of 52nd St.
