After his Instagram message went viral, a Montgomery County boy got a special surprise Wednesday from the Philadelphia Eagles.
Hatfield native Dominic Zaffino, 10, had been dealing with bullies in school who were picking on him for his height. Last month, he took to Instagram to explain to his classmates that chemotherapy has stunted his growth.
"He had a bad day at school that day," Gemma Zaffino told 6ABC. "Dominic hardly cries. He went through three and a half years of chemo and didn't cry. He started bawling his eyes out that night and he showed me what he posted and I started crying."
As Zaffino's message quickly went viral, Eagles defensive end Brandon Bair decided to invite him to the team's practice facility.
"I'm 6'6" tall and I'm looking up to a 10-year-old kid right now - I think that's awesome," Bair told 6ABC.
Zaffino received autographs and a personalized No. 93 jersey. He also got to meet one of his favorite players - Pro Bowl running back Darren Sproles.
