Camden corrections officer accused of accessing privileged info in narcotics case

A Camden County corrections officer is accused of accessing a secure law enforcement database to view privileged information about a narcotics investigation.

Jamall Danford, 39, of Sicklerville, was charged Wednesday with second-degree official misconduct.

According to Camden County prosecutors, Danford also conducted multiple searches on people who were not inmates at the Camden County Correctional Facility where he worked.

Danford has been an employee of the facility for 11 years and makes an annual salary of $72,492, according to data published by the Bergen Dispatch.

He has been charged with second-degree official misconduct and was jailed on $75,000 bail, the prosecutor's office He has been suspended without pay and could face up to 10 years in state prison. He would forfeit future public employment, if convicted.
