Chester County massage therapist arrested for sexual assault

A massage therapist based out of Chester County was arrested Wednesday for an alleged sexual assault.

According to the District Attorney's Office, James R Deiter, who worked at Massage Envy located on the West Chester Pike in West Goshen, gained the trust of one of his clients through multiple massages before allegedly assaulting the victim May 2 during an appointment.

The victim began seeing Dieter for massages once a month starting in September 2014. While the first six sessions with Dieter were normal, it was the final massage that allegedly featured inappropriate behavior from the defendant.

During the session on May 2, the victim claims Dieter inappropriately touched her.

Dieter, 63, was fired from his job immediately after the allegations were made. He also provided massage therapy at Pathways to Healing in Lancaster County.

According to First Assistant District Attorney Michael Noone, there's a chance that others may have been violated by Dieter.

“Based on the experience of law enforcement, there may be other victims out there. We are asking anybody with information to contact the police immediately.”

Dieter is being held at Chester County Prison on $25,000 bail. He has officially been charged with aggravated indecent assault and indecent assault

This case is being investigated by the West Goshen Township Police Department.
