A good Samaritan played a part in stopping a suicidal man from jumping onto the tracks at SEPTA's Broad Street Line Race-Vine station on Wednesday, 6ABC reports.

According to the report, the man had been texting loved ones and telling them of his plan to commit suicide by jumping onto the tracks in front of a moving train. Soon after, his wife showed up and began trying to stop him.

That's when the do-gooder joined in the effort and pressed an emergency button to alert SEPTA police.

The man was held down by his wife and the good Samaritan until authorities arrived, 6ABC reports. He was transferred to an area hospital for care.
