Hit-and-run impact knocks victim out of his shoes on Roosevelt Blvd.

Police say the man sustained a broken leg and broken pelvis

Police are searching for a driver after a hit-and-run victim was found in critical condition early Wednesday morning on Roosevelt Boulevard, CBSPhilly reports.

A 25-year-old man was struck by a dark-colored vehicle, possibly a Honda or Acura, just after 1:30 a.m. on Roosevelt Boulevard and Front Street in Feltonville, police said.

The man, who sustained a broken leg and broken pelvis, was found lying in the inner lanes of the Boulevard in the northbound side at Front Street, officials said.

"The impact caused the 25-year-old victim to somehow come out of both of his shoes," Philadelphia Police Chief Inspector Scott Small told CBSPhilly. "There are no parts of the striking vehicle on the Boulevard, but we believe the striking vehicle will have some front end damage."

The victim was rushed to Einstein Hospital, unconscious, with head trauma and broken bones, police said. He was immediately taken into surgery.

The vehicle was last seen heading northbound after striking the victim, police said. The incident remains under investigation.
