The Philly 5 Mile race will loop through the Navy Yard on Memorial Day, 2016.

UPDATE: The Philly 5 Mile over Memorial Day weekend has been canceled. No more yoga festival, no more run through the Navy Yard and no more BBQ/beer fest afterward.

Turns out not enough people signed up to make the event a reality. The organizers were receiving info that Memorial Day weekend was a bad time for the fitness festival, according to Philly Mag.

For those few who did register, The Philly 5 Mile suggests checking your email for further information.

There's another reason to look forward to summer's Memorial Day weekend. A new race course, yoga event and summer festival are coming to the Navy Yard on Monday, May 30.

The day is like a choose-your-own-adventure book. Run the 5-mile course, join the 45-minute yoga session or just kick back at the festival with live music, Yards beer and BBQ.

Both the race and yoga class begin at 11 a.m. and registration for either guarantees entry to the festival -- along with fitness swag and a free beer.

As for the festival, it will begin at 11:30 a.m. Music will be provided by the bands Good Old War and Work Drugs, while the backyard BBQ meal will be provided by Lo Spiedo and Vetri Family Events.

Registration for all three events opens Monday, Feb. 29, at 10 a.m.
