Percy Street Barbecue is definitely ready for Meat Week.

In 2005, foodies from Tallahassee, Florida, got together for a week to celebrate all things BBQ. Over the past decade, the phenomenon has spread to cities all over the nation, including Philadelphia, which will celebrate Meat Week Sunday, Jan. 25, through Sunday, Feb. 1. In what the organization calls a happy accident, the last night of the eight-day holiday coincides with Super Bowl Sunday, too.

The celebration is simple: Barbecue lovers head to the designated restaurant listed on the city schedule at the designated time, meet up and chow down.

Percy Street Barbecue is starting its Meat Week celebration early. Sunday, Jan. 18, through Friday, Jan. 30, the restaurant will offer a family-style meal including BBQ chicken, pulled pork, smoked beef brisket, cornbread, macaroni and cheese, plus more sides, for just $20 per person. This is in addition to Percy Street's All-You-Can-Eat Wednesday night rib special, too, so January is shaping up to be a meat-y month.
