A man was struck and killed by a SEPTA bus early Tuesday morning in Center City, CBSPhilly reports.
The deadly accident occurred near 11th and Walnut streets around 1 a.m.
According to police, the bus driver was not aware that he had struck the person until a taxi driver flagged him down near 11th and Vine streets a few blocks away.
“The bus driver was not impaired in any way,” Chief Inspector Scott Small told CBSPhilly. “The SEPTA bus driver fully cooperated with police.”
Officials have not identified the victim. Small said the man was possibly in his 50s, but he did not have any ID on him and was possibly homeless.
The accident is under investigation.
