Police investigating two separate stabbings in Grays Ferry

Police are investigating two separate stabbing incidents in Grays Ferry Monday night.

A 60-year-old man was stabbed around 11:30 p.m. on the 1600 block of S. Taney St., 6ABC reports. He was stabbed in the arm and taken to the hospital in stable condition, police say.

No arrests have been made.

In a separate incident, a 16-year-old boy playing basketball at a playground was stabbed around the same time on the 2900 block of Wharton St.

Police say the victim was surrounded by six men with black T-shirts around their heads and was stabbed twice in the back. He was taken to the hospital in stable condition.

Officials say the victim is not cooperating with the police.

Police do not believe the two cases are connected.
