Protesters to throw Toomey an office-warming party

Gift suggestion: 'We hear they could use some more phones...'

U.S. Sen. Pat Toomey’s Philadelphia office is moving to a new home in Old City on Wednesday, and protesters are planning to be there to say hello.

A Facebook invite promoting the Wednesday gathering, coined “Toomey’s Old City office warming party,” tells demonstrators to bring along some signs and consider a gift, adding, "We hear they could use some more phones..."

According to a statement put out by Toomey's office earlier this month, the new digs will be in the U.S. Custom House at 200 Chestnut St. The lease for Toomey's current office space at 1628 John F. Kennedy Blvd. in Center City is expiring.

The Facebook invite also notes that the weekly Tuesday protests, dubbed "Tuesdays with Toomey," will continue to take place each week outside Toomey’s offices, including the new office in Old City.

The Wednesday event will be an extra visit this week.
