In a statement released Tuesday, Aug. 11, 2015, the Jackson family said they wanted to thank the Albert Einstein Hospital and its doctors in Sao Paulo, who have helped their father, Joe, who is recovering from a stroke. Jackson, 87, arrived in Sao Paulo in July and attended several events before falling ill.
Joe Jackson, the father and former talent manager of the Jackson 5, was reportedly hospitalized in Los Angeles over the weekend after suddenly falling ill, according to a report from TMZ.
The 87-year-old Jackson family patriarch reportedly fell ill during a series of scheduled medical tests on Friday and was rushed to a nearby hospital.
In a TMZ street interview over the weekend, Jermaine Jackson confirmed the hospitalization and said that his father appears to be doing better, though doctors still haven't identified the cause of a high fever.
“All his vital signs are great,” Jermaine said. “He’s just tired. He’s 87. We’re just tryin’ to hold onto him as long as we can.”
Last July, Jackson was hospitalized after suffering a stroke while in Sao Paolo celebrating his 87th birthday.
