Son of Tony Luke Jr., of famous sandwich restaurant, dies at 35

Tony Luke Jr.'s son was 35 when he died in March from a heroin overdose.

The son of famous restaurateur Anthony Lucidonio Jr., better known as Tony Luke Jr. of cheesesteak chain Tony Luke's, died this week at the age of 35.

Anthony James Lucidonio III, of Gloucester County, passed on Monday evening, though it's unclear how, according to social media posts from the restaurateur posted Wednesday.

"This has been an incredibly difficult time for my family and I, but we are absolutely overwhelmed by the amount of love and support everyone is showing," Luke Jr. said in a Facebook post. "I truly thank you from the bottom of my heart."

Funeral services will be held at Bradley Funeral Home in Marlton on Friday from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m.

In addition to being a founder of the famous cheesesteak chain Tony Luke's, Luke Jr. is also an actor and TV host.
