Odubel Herrera will, for now at least, remain with Phillies organization

The Phillies appeared to make good on what many hoped they would do with regard to Odubel Herrera — their one-time star outfielder who was arrested for domestic abuse last spring. They designated him for assignment, which gave all 29 MLB teams a chance to nab him from Philly.

Phillies finally DFA (essentially cut ties with) outfielder Odubel Herrera

After some worried anticipation that Odubel Herrera, less than a year removed from being suspended for domestic violence, would get a chance to make the team in spring training, the Phillies formally announced that the outfielder has, in fact, been designated for assignment.

What will the Phillies' bullpen look like in 2020?

With the starting rotation looking better in theory — Zach Wheeler is its only new member — the Phillies bullpen will still be incredibly consequential in 2020 as the bottom of the rotation remains rampant with question marks.

Phillies prospect watch: When will Alec Bohm make it to the show? Spencer Howard? Mickey Moniak?

With a month until pitchers and catchers report for the Phillies to spring training, most of the team's slate of players for Clearwater has been set — with one big exception: their prospects.

Eagles

What they're saying: Lots of candidates for Eagles offensive coordinator, who is the right fit?

The Eagles' offense will have a new look next season, as the team is currently shopping for a new offensive coordinator and wide receivers coach after firing Mike Groh and Carson Walch on Thursday. We'll focus on the one most people are talking about — the OC.

Phillies, looking for outfield help, will give Odubel Herrera a chance in spring training

Odubel Herrera was supposed to be a goner. His days in Philadelphia were over. After an arrest for domestic violence (in an incident with his girlfriend), the Phillies All-Star outfielder was suspended for the final three months of the 2019 season, without pay. The charges were dropped, but the landscape looked like Herrera had worn out his welcome here.

Roseman admits Eagles need to get younger, but his balancing act has never been more complicated

The best thing about Howie Roseman has to be his self awareness. Where other GMs or front office officials around the league (or even in Philadelphia), often beat around the bush, play dumb, or worse — actually are dumb — about the perceptions and shortcomings of a team, Roseman knows what's being said, and knows when he makes a mistake.

Carson Wentz knocked out of Eagles' wild-card loss to Seahawks with head injury

What's the worst case scenario for the injury-plagued Eagles in their playoff game against the Seahawks? Well, it would be losing franchise QB Carson Wentz.

Jadeveon Clowney knocks out Carson Wentz with ‘dirty hit,’ immediately becomes folk villain

It's usually a bit of hyperbole to say that one first quarter play cost a football team its season. And there's really no telling how Carson Wentz would have played against the Seahawks Sunday in the wild card weekend finale if he hadn't been knocked out of the game with a head injury as his defense played out of its mind against Russell Wilson and Co.

NFL Playoffs: Eagles would play Packers in divisional round, if they beat Seahawks

Thanks to the Vikings, dare we say upset win, over the 3-seeded Saints, the NFC playoff picture is set for the Eagles to perhaps get a much more favorable Divisional round match up — should they prevail against Seattle Sunday afternoon.
