In past seasons, Philadelphia Eagles fans generally rooted for their own team, and kept an eye on the rest of the NFC East. In 2018, with the Birds being among the favorites to represent the NFC in the Super Bowl, it's perhaps worth keeping tabs on the conference, as opposed to just the division. You know, assuming they get out of this early-season funk. And so, each week we'll lay out a rooting guide for non-Eagles games on the NFL schedule, and yes, I'm aware that most of the below is obvious.

It's only Week 5 of the 2018 NFL season, and the Philadelphia Eagles have already lost as many games as they did all of last year. They now sit at 2-3 after two consecutive sloppy losses, and look like a shell of the team that won the Super Bowl. As always, win or lose, we hand out 10 awards.

The Philadelphia Eagles will head back home to the friendly (or perhaps unfriendly) confines of Lincoln Financial Field, where the Birds currently have a 13-game winning streak going, that is if you don't count the meaningless Week 17 game last season when the Eagles' JV team lost to the Cowboys' varsity team. One of those wins, of course, was the Eagles' 38-7 rout over the Vikings in the NFC Championship Game, when Nick Foles suddenly caught fire and would eventually finish the job in the Super Bowl... in Minnesota.

The Philadelphia Eagles have missed important players all season long, and Sunday's matchup against the Minnesota Vikings will be no different. Meanwhile, the Vikings come into this game missing some key players as well, most notably their best player on defense in Everson Griffen, who is dealing with personal issues. Here's the Eagles-Vikings final injury report before game day.

Through the first four games of the season, the Eagles have allowed 14 sacks, which puts them on pace for 56 sacks allowed on the season. To put that into context, the Colts led the NFL last year with 56 sacks allowed.

Let's hand out individual grades at the quarter mark for the Eagles' defensive players, on something of a curve, based on each player's individual roles and expectations.

The Eagles embarrassed the Vikings in the NFC Championship Game last January, though the Vikings will come into Philly this time a around looking somewhat different. Offensively, they have Dalvin Cook back from injury, and of course, they backed up the Brinks truck for Kirk Cousins this offseason. Defensively, they've been without star pass rusher Everson Griffen, who is dealing with personal issues. Here are five matchups to watch.
