Mailbag: Will Carson Wentz's knee make Doug Pederson less aggressive on fourth down?

In our weekly Eagles chat on Friday, there were a lot of questions that we could not get to in time or other questions we did answer but could use more color. And so, let's do a mailbag post to answer some of the overflow.

Two more talented players who could interest the Eagles enter supplemental draft

Seeing as the Eagles had just five draft picks in 2018, and are projected to have an abundance of them in 2019, it could make some sense for them to bid on one of the three following players.

Video: See Carson Wentz's noticeable progress over 16 days at Eagles OTAs

The Philadelphia Eagles wrapped up OTAs on Thursday afternoon, and they'll have a three-day minicamp next week before they break for the summer. The early focus of spring practices, from a media perspective, has been on Carson Wentz (duh), who is recovering from ACL and LCL tears in his left knee.

Handing out 10 awards from the Eagles' rescinded White House invite

While I would love to "stick to sports," unfortunately you now also have to be a political pundit to cover "The Philadelphia Eagles Football Team," after their highly publicized dust up with Donald Trump this week. And so, now that things are calming down again (for now), let's hand out 10 awards from the whole debacle.

Eagles OTA observations: New wide receiver flashes in practice

On Thursday, the Philadelphia Eagles conducted their final OTA session of the spring. Next week, they'll hold a three-day minicamp, before breaking for the summer, when we won't see them again on the practice field until the start of training camp. As always, we have notes.

Eagles OTA observations: Trading a pair of current players becoming more likely

The "Philadelphia Eagles Football Team," as Donald Trump put it, are just that, and HEY(!) they actually did football stuff today in front of the media. We have notes.

Sentiment grows that Eagles' Carson Wentz will be ready for Week 1

In the Philadelphia Eagles' first full team practice on May 22, we got our first glimpse of Carson Wentz on the practice field, roughly five months removed from surgery to repair a torn ACL and LCL in his left knee. It was hard not to be impressed by Wentz's participation in practice, as he showed more mobility and zip on his passes than many would expect at that point in his recovery. On that day, we noted, "Pencil in Wentz for Week 1."

FOX News (predictably) paints Eagles in misleading light on anthem protests

In the wake of Donald Trump's decision to rescind his invitation to "The Philadelphia Eagles Football Team" to visit the White House, FOX News is predictably painting the Eagles' protests in a misleading way.

The 2017 Eagles were outstanding on fourth down on defense, too

Back in February, we took a look at all 29 of Pederson's offensive "go for it" fourth down calls, with analysis. On the season, the Eagles were 20 of 29 (69 percent, which is nice) on those fourth down calls. What I didn't notice until today was how good the Eagles' defense was when teams went for it on fourth down against them. On the season, including the players, opposing offenses converted just 6 of 24 fourth down attempts, or a measly 25 percent. Here we'll look back at all 24 of them, many of which were huge stands.
