Former Eagle Juqua Parker charged with DUI after crashing car near State College

Former Philadelphia Eagles defensive lineman Juqua Parker faces DUI charges after he crashed his car in central Pennsylvania in March, police said. Parker, 47, crashed his car in Ferguson Township, Centre County, and allegedly had a blood-alcohol content twice the legal limit, according to authorities.

Golf Channel docuseries will chronicle restoration of century-old Cobbs Creek Golf Course

The $150 million renovation of the century-old Cobbs Creek Golf Course in West Philadelphia will be featured in a three-part docuseries streaming on NBC Sports' GolfPass and broadcast on TV by the Golf Channel. The series will examine the history of the course and progress to start a new era at Cobbs Creek. Planners hope the revitalized public course can one day host a PGA Tour event.

McGilliin's Olde Ale House, the longest continuously operating bar in Philadelphia, has opened a new year-round gift shop in a nearby storefront in Center City. Philly journalist pleads guilty to role in prescription fraud scheme at Broad Street Family Pharmacy

Seven people, including veteran Philadelphia journalist Angelo 'A.D.' Amorosi, pleaded guilty this week to charges stemming from a $20 million Medicare and Medicaid fraud scheme uncovered at the former Broad Street Family Pharmacy in South Philly, the Pennsylvania attorney general's office said. The owners and pharmacist at the business — which closed in 2021 — are among those who pleaded guilty.

Whitemarsh Township held a special meeting Thursday night to discuss the cancelation of this year's July 4th parade, which was called off because of public safety concerns. Former Philly police officer found guilty of voluntary manslaughter in Eddie Irizarry shooting

Former Philadelphia police officer Mark Dial was found guilty of voluntary manslaughter in his trial for the August 2023 shooting of 27-year-old Eddie Irizarry in Kensington. At the end of a trial that started Tuesday, the jury found Dial, 29, not guilty of third-degree murder. A sentencing hearing will take place at a later date.
