Philadelphia Police Inspector James Smith, a 30-year veteran of the department, and his older brother, Patrick Smith, a former police detective, were charged Thursday with assaulting a man with Asperger's syndrome while off-duty on Aug. 19, 2020. Aaron Hirschhorn, the 42-year-old founder of DogVacay and Gallant, died in a boating accident in Miami Beach on March 28, 2021.
