Police are looking to identify and locate the suspect wanted for the theft of a pit bull puppy in Port Richmond.

Police have released video of an unknown male who allegedly stole a puppy from outside a store in Port Richmond on Monday.

A 20-year-old woman left her gray-and-white 5-month-old pit bull tied to a pole in front of a Rite Aid store at 2545 Aramingo Ave. at 11:00 a.m. She went inside to purchase some items, and when she returned, her puppy was missing, police said.

Surveillance video recovered from the area showed an unknown male taking the dog and fleeing the area in an unknown direction.

Police describe the suspect as a white or Hispanic bald male who was wearing all gray clothing and driving a royal blue SUV.

Police have not identified the owner of the dog.
