Cyclists are gearing up for the Iron Hill Twilight Race Series, a day of pro and amateur bike racing Saturday, August 8 in West Chester. The evening of five races also includes a community festival and block party in downtown West Chester.

Races taking place during the series include the Iron Hill Twilight Criterium, the Rothman Institute Amateur Men's Criterium, the Avante Salon Pro Women's Criterium and the West Chest Dental Arts Kids' Race. Back by popular demand, the Tolsdorf Twilight Trike Challenge will also take place, sending teams of five tricycle riders into a series of heats down Gay Street in pursuit of a coveted trophy.

The Benchmark Community Festival at 4 p.m. will provide entertainment before the night's races. Set up on High Street between Gay and Market streets, it will feature booths for event sponsors, local businesses, health and fitness vendors, food vendors, nonprofit organizations and more.

The Market Street Block Party, also at 4 p.m., will take place along (where else) Market Street between Church and Darlington streets. Local businesses will spill onto the street, as will family-friendly activities like face painting, chalk art and live music. Click here for the full schedule of events.
