What better place is there to actually enjoy an agonizing decision than a bottle shop? Video stores are basically extinct and card shops are only tolerable because there's candy around.
According to a
proposal submitted to the Queen Village Neighborhood Association, a new, upscale bottle shop called BeerLOVE may be coming to 714 S. 4th Street.
The owner, an environmental attorney who lives in Pennsport, wants to model the shop after the membership concept of Community Supported Agriculture. This would give customers a chance to sign up for a monthly specialty six-pack, VIP events, and preferred access to rare selections.
Planned offerings include 12 oz. and 24 oz. single bottles, a small selection of draft beers for tastings and growlers, some snack items, and specialty events for customers to learn about beers.
The shop would also include an online and in-store inventory system that enables customers to view product descriptions and ratings before or while shopping.
Another plan, per the
Passyunk Post, is to bring Philadelphia its first
Randall System -- a filter connected to a beer tap that infuses speciality flavors into draft beers.
According to the QVNA proposal, the hours for BeerLOVE would be as follows: Tuesday-Wednesday 11am-9pm, Thursday-Saturday 11am-10pm, and Sunday 11am-8pm, closed Monday.
With QVNA approval, the only remaining step is to complete the licensing process ahead of a target opening date in June.
