Each July, cult movie fans flock to Phoenixville’s historic Colonial Theatre, where many scenes from the 1958 movie "The Blob" were filmed.

A big scene in the campy horror film "The Blob" was filmed at Phoenixville's Colonial Theatre in the '50s. Screaming moviegoers run from the building as an alien creature takes over their small town.

On Sunday, July 15, fans of "The Blob" can pretend they're also being chased by a sci-fi monster during The Blobfest 5K in Phoenixville.
