Get ready to don your fanciest Derby attire and sip on wine from South Jersey's top producers, because the Annual Down And Derby Wine Festival is returning to Veterans Island at Cooper River Park on Saturday May 6 for its largest event yet. The festival is a proud partnership between the Camden County Board of Commissioners and Visit South Jersey, a destination marketing organization for much of the South Jersey region.
This fun-filled day will offer attendees the opportunity to discover new wines, feast on delicious food, and enjoy live entertainment by The Secret Service Band and Comedian Aunt Mary Pat. Festival attendees in Derby attire and hats will also have the chance to win prizes for being “best dressed.”
The participating wineries include Sharrott Winery, Tomasello Winery, Valenzano Family Winery, Amalthea Cellars, Auburn Road, Salem Oak Vineyards, Wagonhouse Winery, and White Horse Winery. In addition, food trucks such as Decadent Delights, Crawdaddy's Cajun Eatery, Bake'n Bacon, and The Traveling Tomato will offer attendees a variety of flavors to choose from.
The Secret Service Band, formed in 1983, will be headlining the event. Band members Dom Albanese and Craig Phillips have been thrilling audiences for over three decades with music spanning all genres and decades. Aunt Mary Pat, who was recognized in 2019 as Delaware’s Readers’ Choice best entertainer and Best of Delco’s best comedian, will be sure to show attendees why she’s rightly earned the title of “Queen of DelCo.”
General admission tickets for the festival cost $35. A VIP experience is also available for $75 and includes a special gift and access to a VIP tent with food offerings. Designated drivers can attend the event for $15. Get your tickets now.
